In-Person Learning A/B Hybrid Families
Please use the following checklist to prepare for school return starting on Tuesday 3/23 & Wednesday 3/24.  Students who are assigned to in-person learning are expected to come to class two days a week on their assigned cohort day.  Cohort A - (Tues & Thurs) & Cohort B - (Wed & Friday).  Check the bottom of your schedule if you are not sure which cohort you have been assigned to.  ** Make sure you come to campus only on your assigned cohort days as we have strict safety guidelines which we must follow of the number of students in a classroom.  We are ensuring that we meet the agreed-upon "18 per cohort" language for every classroom.  Students with an unverified (or unexplained) absence will be blocked in Lumi Sight for 10 days or until our attendance office receives communication of the reason for the absence.  Report all absences to 760-290-2211.  Please take some time to carefully read over the Important Attendance Information doc and COVID -19 Health /Attendance FAQ for Parents below.

** Hybrid teachers have the option to teach simultaneously (in-person & zoom with at-home students) or synchronously/asynchronously (instruct in-person only & at-home students are provided independent work through google classroom). Teachers will inform students if they need to be live with them on asynchronous days for simultaneous instruction.

Virtual Program / LEVS Families
The Virtual Program at both middle and high school was designed to follow the Hybrid schedule and instructional model. Students in the Virtual Program are concurrently enrolled in their home site and the Virtual Program and are still considered a student at their home site. Students in the Virtual Program will follow the same bell schedule as the Hybrid program. The Virtual Program also follows the same instructional model as the Hybrid model including the implementation of the A/B Cohorts. This allows for the alignment, continuity, and fluency between the two programs. Virtual teachers, like Hybrid teachers, have the ability to teach simultaneously or synchronously / asynchronously. Please look for communication from your teachers regarding specific expectations and policies.

Cohorts of students have been designed based on student’s last name (Cohort A is A-L and Cohort B is M-Z), for the most part.  When looking at your student’s daily schedule in ParentVue, the course name will end in an A or B designating their Cohort.  Students in Cohort A will attend live instruction via Zoom on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students in Cohort B with last names beginning with M-Z will attend live instruction via Zoom on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Monday, March 22nd
Students will attend class from 8:30 - 10:20. This is a normal Monday schedule and Mondays will remain the same for the remainder of the year.

Tuesdays and Thursdays
Moving forward students in Virtual School will be in Cohorts just like their hybrid peers attending in-person. (Same bell schedule as a hybrid) Students in Cohort A will attend live instruction via Zoom and Cohort B will be provided asynchronous instruction.*

*Teachers will inform students if they need to be live with them on asynchronous days for simultaneous instruction.

Families will continue to receive messaging from their home schools about school events and site specific information.

Thank you & Gooooo Knights!
