Thomas Briones was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. While taking his general courses at his local high school, he had the opportunity to transfer midday to take photography at a vocational high school, where he learned analog and digital photographic practices. As a high school student, Thomas took college classes at a local community college on the weekends and every summer and received an Associates Degree in Communications when he graduated high school. He was awarded a 4-year scholarship from the Arizona Scholarship Foundation for his academic success and high GPA. He continued his education by receiving his Associates in Fine Art Photography from Phoenix College. From 2006-2016, he worked for a photography studio in Phoenix, Arizona, where he gained knowledge of the business of photography. He was the digital artist and a studio photographer for the company. Thomas continued his education at Arizona State University, where he received his Bachelors in Fine Art Photography. In August of 2016, Thomas began his teaching career in Avondale, AZ where he taught Digital Photography. In the summer of 2017, Thomas moved to San Diego and accepted a position at San Marcos High School where he is continuing to teach Digital Photography. Outside of school, Thomas continues photographing and growing as an artist. He enjoys photographing weddings, families, commercial and fashion photography.
