Hybrid Reopening
  • SMHS continues to make preparations for reopening in our hybrid model.  Communications were sent out Friday to all community members regarding our Health/Attendance Office FAQ’s as well as informational videos.
  • With current case rate trends Dr. Campbell has identified the Week of March 22nd as our projected hybrid start date.  I will continue to communicate
  • timelines as soon as they become available.

EQUITY BOARD POLICY

Tuesday evening at the SMUSD Board of Trustees Meeting, Governing President Carlson introduced the Board’s resolution to commit to anti-racism and equitable practices. Tied to the resolution is an Equity - Board Policy that was also introduced. In her comments President Carlson noted that while the resolution and Board Policy are important first steps, what is most important is the hard work to follow. It is exciting to see that our Board is committed to connecting action to the words.


SMHS EQUITY TEAM MEETING

  • Our SMHS Equity Team met last Monday afternoon with SDCOE representatives to continue moving SMHS toward becoming a more inclusive and equitable school. 
  • One participant commented, “This is work based on hope and actualization of human potential. We can be kinder, compassionate, inquisitive...We can listen more so that we can take action to be inclusive and restore trust and faith in our community, site and profession…”

NATIONAL SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKERS WEEK

National School Social Worker Week is March 7th - 13th.  Along with all of you our school social worker, Michelle Atkins has done such an incredible job adapting in order to meet the unique needs of our students and families during this hybrid/ virtual environment. Michelle Atkins you are appreciated!


ACADEMIC LEAGUE DEFEATS TORREY PINES

JV was a close match coming down to the last question, with a final score of 205 to 200.
Varsity squad won in a decisive manner with a final score of 295 to 205.

Girls Field Hockey Defeats Poway 1-0
