The Emergent Bilingual Program at San Marcos High School is designed to support students’ English language development in tandem with content knowledge acquisition. We are committed to providing quality standards-based instruction to students that is both intellectually challenging, respectful to their age and development, integrates language and content learning, and ensures students are ready to engage in the complex world of the 21st Century.

We are a community with a shared responsibility to value language and culture as assets and utilize grade-level and ELD standards to empower students to build language skills through the development of language resources, targeted language instruction, purposeful scaffolding, and appropriate evaluation in all domains (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).
