San Marcos Unified School District offers insurance coverage for district owned devices through School Device Coverage.

This program is optional but highly recommended by the district. The flier can be downloaded from this site in English and this site in Spanish.

Please note that the insurance will cover all accidental damages (including broken screens and water damage) loss and theft of the devices.
There are unlimited claims, 0 deductible and full transferability to your loaner device if applicable.

Cost of optional insurance:

August 19, 2024 - August 18, 2025

Full Coverage $25 (limited to 2 claims per school year)

If students do not have the insurance, the district will charge fines for the damages up to the replacement cost. Some common fines for damages are:

• Broken Screens = $35

• Lost Adaptor = $22

• Broken Keyboards = $43

• Broken Camera = $20

• Full device replacement = $300
