For over 30 years Barbara devoted her life to the students at SMHS. There was nothing she wouldn’t do to help "her children' succeed both in high school and beyond. Ms. Dolan’s room was ALWAYS open...before, during, and after school. Not only was Barbara a teacher, coach, and mentor, she was a surrogate mother to hundreds of SMHS young adults navigating their high school years and future paths.

Barbara was a pioneer in the ASB, pageantry and cheerleading communities, and was one of the first teachers at SMHS to instruct courses in computer technology. Even in retirement, Ms. Dolan continued to volunteer at both SMHS and Mission Hills HS. Sadly, just a few short years into retirement, we lost Barbara unexpectedly in 2007.Although she left us too soon, her influence on the lives of many will live on forever.

The San Marcos Promise (TSMP) provides tools, resources, and opportunities to help students successfully launch their futures. Our VISION is to create a center on campus that represents Ms. Dolan's core values. The “Barbara J. Dolan Future Center” will be a comfortable, safe space for students to seek assistance and mentorship for their future beyond high school.

With your help, WE can create a space that not only honors Barbara, but provides current and future generations of SMHS students with
resources and support to reach their future goals.
