San Marcos Unified Schools Closed ~ Distance Learning / End of the Year Student Pick-Up / Drop-Off Process

Greetings Knights,

As reported in Dr. Garcia's - May 8th "Update to Community", our physical schools will remain closed indefinitely and Distance Learning will continue to be our means of instruction for the remainder of the 19- 20 SY.  Below is our preliminary outline for allowing students to return/pick-up items from campus.

Please Note: All pick-up/drop-off will be "curbside" (w/exception of the locker room). The route and will be clearly labeled with signage at each station. Students/Parents are asked to please come during their assigned day/time in order to cut down on wait-time. Please wait patiently in your vehicle until it is your student's turn at each station. If your student needs locker room access they must wear a face mask and maintain social distancing of 6 ft. (Only students will be permitted to access to the locker room.)

Good Afternoon Knights,

Our entire SMHS team is truly missing seeing and interacting with you on a daily basis.  We are looking forward to re-engaging with you Tuesday - Friday, starting tomorrow - April 14th for our first day of Distance Learning.  If your teacher already has an established Google Classroom please log-in to the correct classroom and begin interacting and working with your teacher and other students.  If you do not see a Google Classroom for a particular period please check your email for an access code to a new Google Classroom.  Our school building may be closed... but our team is ALL IN for continuing YOUR learning and preparing you to reach your future goals.

If you know of a friend who still does not have a Chromebook please tell them to come to the SMHS Theater tomorrow (4/14) from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.  COX, Spectrum, and AT&T are all providing special free internet deals for K-12 students.  Families just need to call the provider and provide their address, a self-installation kit will be sent to homes with/in 5-7 days.

Feel free to reach out to a teacher, counselor or administrator with any questions or concerns.  We are here for you!!
